How to hook up MIDI to my mpc 1000?

I have a radioshack MD-1800 midi keyboard...im trying to make it so i can record my Akai Mpc 1000 and md-1800 together...i would like to record them on my boss br900 but im not understanding this midi thing...i have the midi in and out hooked up to to and from the md-1800 to the mpc (the boss br900 only has a midi out port) and then i have the 1/4 inch from the back of the md-1800 into the inputs of the boss br900 and then the stereo out 1/4 cables from the mpc into the XLR input of the boss br900

The thing with midi is that your machines have to be in sync, so get your books out and work on that. Also you are saying that you use a stereo out cable that you adapted to an XLR, i think that is not correct, cause you are grounding due to the mono output of the XLR

How important is contrast ratio when choosing a LCD TV?

The 26" Akai Tv I am thinking of buying has a fairly low (800:1) contrast ratio. Other brands have 1000 :1 or 3000:1 plus.Should this be an important factor in my decision as to which brand to purchase?

It is important, but should not be the only criterion.
800:1 is rather low, these are very old panels, so you should get it at a very good price.

3,000:1 is probably dynamic contrast (and rather low).

Any panel with a true contrast of 1,000:1-1,500:1 should be OK. The response should be at least 8 ms.

Try to go to a store and see the TV you want to buy side by side with others. Not the best method, since TV setups are never ideal, but, better than nothing.
