Is My Mixer Working Correctly?

I have a Gemini ps-727 dj Turntable Mixer.
I was wondering... if anyone with DJ experience could answer this question.
I have my headphones plugged into the mixer, but when I'm mixing I can hear on the headphone whatever I do with the crossfader.
Is that normal? Before I got into turntablism I always thought that you were supposed to hear both phono inputs whether the crossfader was moved or not. Is that correct? Or is my mixer working just fine?
Thanks

Depeds on where you're plugged in to the mixer. I'm not totally familiar with your table, but I would guess that there are separate outputs for mix 1(pre), mix 2 (pre), crosfade (post).

And dude, I'm Ryan D too! Yeah!

car subwoofer connected to a dj amp?

i bought a sony xplod XS-L100B from a friend and to see if it works i connected it to a Gemini P-800 amp. i set my mixer to send only the low signals but i dont hear a thing. is this because car subwoofers only work with car amplifierss it because i need a higer gauge wire?? is it because im not connecting it properly??or is it that the subwoofer doesnt work at all??the subwoofer is rated at 4 ohms the amp is supposed to be able to work with 8 ohm and 4 ohm speakers.

well from what you stated it should work although I'm not sure if the amp you have has enough power to supply the sub. have you tried testing the amp with a different speaker. one that you know for certain works. if the different speaker works try the sub again if the sub does not come on the last thing to try is find a friend with a car amp to test the sub with.
